Our policy on privacy of data is fully compliant with the 2018 General Data Protection Regulations and Data Processing legislation.

Local sharing of clinical information to assist other NHS providers with your care.

With your consent, we are now able to share details of your medical record with other NHS organisations that provide care for you, for example Out of Hours and Community services. These other services will ask your permission to view your record. Sharing your health record will help us deliver the best level of care for you.

Please be assured that we will only share your information if you have given us your express written consent

Subject Access Request (SAR)

 Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), individuals have the right to obtain:

• confirmation that their data is being processed
• access to their personal data (and only theirs)
• other supplementary information – this largely corresponds to the information that should be provided in a privacy notice

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) clarifies that the reason for allowing individuals to access their personal data is so that they are aware of and can verify the lawfulness of the processing and understand how and why the practice is using their data.

This policy does not apply to requests to access records of deceased patients, as the GDPR does not apply to the data of deceased patients.
